Introducing Allah to a child is the most important responsibility of a parent. The image of God you paint in their early years will stick with them for life. Avoid starting with "Hellfire" or "Punishment". Start with "Love" and "Gifts".
Using Nature as Evidence
Don't use abstract philosophy. Point to the rain, the delicious mango, the cute kitten. Ask, "Who made this mango so sweet for us?" Connect every joy to the Generosity of Allah (Al-Kareem). This builds gratitude before it builds fear.
Answering "Where is He?"
We answer as the Prophet (PBUH) taught: "He is above the Heavens, but He sees and hears everything." Explain it like the sun—the sun is in the sky, but its light and warmth are everywhere in the room. Similarly, Allah's Knowledge and Mercy are everywhere.
