The Prophet Musa (AS) had a speech impediment and asked Allah to "untie the knot from my tongue". Stuttering or freezing when reciting, especially in front of a teacher, is a common anxiety response.
The 'Whisper' Method
Anxiety often triggers the 'fight or flight' response, tightening the vocal cords. Start your recitation at a barely-audible whisper. This bypasses the performance anxiety centers of the brain. Slowly increase volume as you find your rhythm.
It's About Effort, Not Perfection
The Prophet (PBUH) said that the one who struggles with the Quran, stammering through it, gets *double* the reward. One for the recitation, and one for the struggle. Remind yourself: You are not performing for the teacher; you are struggling for Allah, and He loves the struggle.
