We recite it 17 times a day minimum. But if Al-Fatiha were a medicine, are we taking it correctly? Ibn al-Qayyim wrote volumes just on this one Surah.
A Dialogue with the King
The Prophet (PBUH) narrated that Allah divides the prayer between Him and His servant. When we say "Alhamdulillahi Rabbil Alameen", Allah responds from above the Throne: "My servant has praised Me." Pause after each verse to let that sink in. You are in a conversation.
Iyyaka Na'budu (You Alone We Worship)
This is the pivot of the entire Quran. It shifts from knowledge to action. It destroys arrogance ("We worship") and destroys fear of others ("You Alone"). Realizing this liberates you from slavery to people.
