Ayatul Kursi (2:255) is considered the 'Chief' of the Quranic verses. It contains the Ism Al-A'zam (The Greatest Name of Allah). It is a pure, undiluted description of the Creator, listing 17 of His attributes in a single flowing paragraph.
Ever-Living, Ever-Sustaining
"Al-Hayy, Al-Qayyum". These names remind us that while everything else dies or depends on others, Allah is Alive and Self-Sustaining. He doesn't need us, but we desperately need Him. This realization destroys arrogance.
No Sleep, No Slumber
The verse reassures us that our Guardian never takes a break. When you are asleep and vulnerable, He is awake and protecting. This is why it is the ultimate verse of protection against fear, anxiety, and Shaytan.
